A month ago we published our new indie game. So far we've been focused on games in the Hank series, such as Hank: Straightjacket and Hank: Drowning On Dry Land, we've also created an experimental roguelike game Starship Murder, Dragon Snakes, Dead Horizon, Yolk Heroes and Soulblight.
This time, however, we decided to move away from the previous darker atmospheres and bet on something pleasing to the eye with a light comedy twist. This is how Tales From The Arcade: Fartmania was made, being a platformer in which we control a small piggy character Pinky and, traversing higher and higher levels of the skies, we have to rescue his friends kidnapped by aliens.
So how much money did we make? ... Zero. That's because we decided to publish our new production on platforms such as Newgrounds, GameJolt, and Kongregate, where all games are free. It will still come to Steam later this year, but let's move on to how Fartmania went on these websites. In total, our game has been played almost 25,000 times, which is a very good result for us. From the 5th of May on Newgrounds, gamers played Fartmania 14,000 times and it received a total rating of 4.17, which we also consider quite a success. On Kongregate, on the other hand, starting from the 22nd of May, we collected almost 10,000 plays. On GameJolt we still have to wait a little longer, due to the fact that we published Fartmania there only a few days ago.
We're certain that such a high number of impressions on Newgrounds was contributed to the contest we organized, in which the person in the first place of high scores won a personalized pig character in our game, which will appear in an upcoming update. Congratulations Hockdihi, thanks for taking part and earning a score of over 178,000 points. We are planning a similar contest in the future on the occasion of the game's launch on Steam, so keep an eye on us so you don't miss it. And we're now back to work on Hank: Drowning On Dry Land, because there's really not much left to finish, and we'll just tell you that it'll be the best thing we ever made! See ya!
